Free learning and skills for Birmingham

Across Birmingham, many people are looking for practical ways to grow. Some want to improve their CV. Some want to build confidence with digital skills. Others are thinking about starting a small business, changing careers, learning from others or simply finding a supportive community that understands where they come from.

That is why free learning and skills matter.

Pula is being built with community at its heart. It is a warm space for the African, Caribbean and wider diaspora community in Birmingham and across Southern Africa to connect, learn and support one another. The aim is simple: make it easier for people to access useful opportunities without hidden fees or pressure.

Learning does not have to feel formal or distant. Sometimes it starts with a conversation, a shared tip, a recommendation, or seeing someone else take their next step. For a young person, that could mean discovering new skills that open doors. For a parent, it could mean flexible ways to learn around family life. For a trader or small business owner, it could mean picking up ideas on promotion, customer service or using digital tools with more confidence.

Birmingham is full of talent, ambition and resilience. From Handsworth to Aston, from Smethwick to Erdington, our communities already carry knowledge, creativity and lived experience. What is often missing is not potential, but access, visibility and a trusted place to connect.

Pula wants to help create that place.

Alongside free learning and skills, Pula also brings together community features including marketplace, jobs, homes, groups, calls and more, all designed to support everyday life and real connection. It is free to join, women join free forever, and Pula does not sell data.

This is not about grand promises. It is about building something useful, respectful and rooted in community. A place where people can keep learning, share opportunities and grow at their own pace.
